Fermions Do Avoid Each Other

Identical fermions are never found close together. For the first time, this assumption has been experimentally demonstrated. For many years, quantum physicists had known theoretically that these elementary particles were incapable of travelling in close proximity. In a beam of such particles, the distance between any pair was supposed to be always greater than a given value, called the “correlation length.”
